Terry Murcko (October 4)


First Wednesday Readers Series presents poet and musician Terry Murcko of Youngstown. Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7:00pm at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. An open reading, hosted by Bob Wilson, will follow. With apologies, this space is only accessible by a steep stairway.


Youngstown poet / song-writer, Terry Murcko, will perform original songs developed from the work of beloved regional poets, including Emanuel Halliman, Frank Polite, Daniel Thompson, Maj Ragain, Maggie Anderson, George Peffer, Jeanne Mahon, Mary Greer, Jim Villani, and Jjosh Cohen.


A voice in Youngstown poetry for over 40 years, Terry Murcko helped Jim Villani start PigIron Press in the ’70’s. He retired from teaching and play directing after 35 years. He is the recipient of a prize from the Robinson Jeffers Tor House Foundation, and is included in the anthology Fallen City Writers.
