First Wednesday Reader Series presents poets Mary Biddinger and Sarah Dravec. Marissa McCabe will co-host. Open mic to follow. Wednesday, May 1, at 7:00pm at the Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. This reading will be downstairs in the Trophy Room, accessible only by stairs.


Mary Biddinger is a poet and flash fiction writer who lives in Akron. She is Professor of English at the University of Akron, where she is on the faculty of the NEOMFA creative writing program. Her most recent poetry collection is Department of Elegy (Black Lawrence Press, 2022). She is co-editor, with Julie Brooks Barbour, of A Mollusk Without a Shell: Essays on Self-Care for Writers (University of Akron Press, 2024).


Sarah Dravec is a graduate of the NEOMFA. Her chapbook, I do not feel a mountain between my breasts, was a finalist for Driftwood Press’s 2020 Adrift Chapbook Contest. Her work has appeared in Bone Bouquet, Gold Wake Live, and others. Sarah lives in Northeast Ohio with her wife.
