Lit Cleveland Breakthrough Residency for First Book Project

Thanks to a grant from the Mahoning County Commissioners, one writer who lives or works in Mahoning County will be selected for Lit Cleveland's Breakthrough Residency! The Breakthrough Writing Residency is intended for those who demonstrate a passion for writing and a commitment to developing a book-length manuscript but who have not published a book or attended a MFA program.

Applicants are selected for the program based on the excellence of their writing and ability to complete their proposed writing project. Writing projects may include (but are not limited to) completing the first draft of a novel, memoir, poetry manuscript, or similar creative work, or revising and submitting a book-length project for publication. The residency is for personal writing projects (manuscripts) only, not community writing programs.

Application deadline July 29. This opportunity is being supported in part by funds awarded to the Board of Mahoning County Commissioners under Assistance Listing No. 21.027 by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
