First Wednesday Readers Series presents poets & writers Jim Daniels of Pittsburgh & Jeff Gundy of Bluffton, Oh, Wednesday, March 1 at the Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St. The reading will be co-hosted by Debbie Allen, and the features will be followed by an open mic. We will also be celebrating National Peanut Butter Day. Jim Daniels’ latest book is Gun/Shy. Other recent books include his fiction collection, The Perp Walk and his anthology, RESPECT: The Poetry of Detroit Music (co-editor M. L. Liebler). A native of Detroit, he lives in Pittsburgh and teaches in the Alma College low-residency MFA program.
Jeff Gundy, Distinguished Poet in Residence at Bluffton University, has published thirteen books, including Wind Farm: Landscape with Stories and Towers (creative nonfiction), and Without a Plea and Abandoned Homeland (poetry). A former Fulbright lecturer in Austria, he was Ohio Poet of the Year in 2015 for Somewhere Near Defiance.
