Join us for an unforgettable fiction reading by Youngstown-lived writers Sarah K. Stephens and Couri Johnson, moderated by Rose Marry. Youngstown, Ohio, has left an indelible impression on many writers who have called Youngstown home. This annual series will feature those in our proud literary legacy.

Sarah K. Stephens is a developmental psychologist and Teaching Professor at Penn State University. A graduate of YSU ('03, B.A. Psychology), Sarah is the author of six psychological thrillers, including It Was Always You and The Killing Kind. When she's not writing or teaching, she volunteers as a firefighter with ALPHA Fire Company.


Couri Johnson is a graduate of the NeoMFA and holds a Ph.D. in creative writing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is an author of fabulist fiction that blends the industrial world with fairy tale motifs. Her short story collection "I'll Tell You a Love Story" is available through Bridge Eight Press, and her novel, The Girl Who, through Gateway Press. Her forthcoming collection, Feraltales, will be available this summer through Aqueduct Press. For more about her work visit www.courijohnson.com 


Rose Marry graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the NEOMFA program specializing in fiction. Her fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have appeared in several anthologies and literary magazines, including Straylight Magazine, Anomaly, and Laurel Review.

A percentage of Elizabeth’s proceeds go to support the work of The Loveland Foundation, Inc, providing free therapy for Black women, girls and gender non-conforming individuals.
