Christine Howey & Angie Orlando (May 4)

First Wednesday Readers Series presents poets Christine Howey of Cleveland and Angie Orlando of Kent on May 4th at 7 PM at the Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St. Bill Mullane will co-host. The featured readers will be followed by an open mic. We will also be celebrating National Hoagie Day.


Christine Howey is a performance poet, stage actor and director, playwright, theatre critic and the former executive director of Literary Cleveland. Her one-person play about her transgender journey, Exact Change, was an official selection of the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival and was subsequently adapted into a film.


Angie C. Orlando is a writer from Kent, Ohio who happens to be DeafBlind. She graduated from Kent State University with a bachelors degree in Special Education. In 2016, Angie earned a Masters in Fine Arts in creative writing from Ashland University. Through the Tunnel: Becoming DeafBlind is her first book.
