December First Wednesday Series Reading: Three Appalachian Women Poets

Join us for the last First Wednesday Reading Series of 2015. Wow, what a great year, and what a lineup. December 2, 2015, 7:00, downtown at Suzie’s Dogs & Drafts, 32 Phelps St. Free parking in the lot behind the Voinovich Building, corner of Hazel and Commerce. Open mic emceed by Lit Youngstown writer Tracy McQuillan.

At this reading, we will be taking a special collection of “Mom gifts” for children at the Beatitude House to give their mothers for Christmas. If you’d like to contribute, gift ideas include scarves, socks, slippers, dish towels, lotions, soaps, books, jewelry (no candles, please). Sherri Reenacter

Sherri Saines is a librarian, mother, eighteenth-century reenactor, dancer and poet. She has been reading, writing, memorizing, and performing poetry since her grandmother gave her A Golden Book of Poetry for her 6th birthday. She has been published in Pig Iron, Allegheny Magazine, Mothering Magazine, Muse, Clover, Penguin Review and other small press publications. Her poems have been anthologized in The Ides of March (2012) and Everything Stops and Listens. Her non-literary husband, Steve, is her best critic and greatest support.
